If you’re upping your exercise levels, you need to make sure you boost your intake of liquids to match. You don’t need an expensive sports drink – just plain water will do. Make sure you are hydrated before you begin exercising, drink plenty of water during any rest periods and try to hydrate while you are stretching down at the end.
It’s also really important to hydrate during the course of the day. Try keeping a bottle or jug of water near you and get used to taking regular swigs. It’s much easier to get hydrated a little bit at a time, rather than feeling you need to drink a heap of water all at once.
