Ingredients

CAKE
  • 2 cups (300g) white self-raising flour
  • 1 cup (200g)caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup (120mL) CARNATION Evaporated Milk
  • 150 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
ICING & DECORATIONS

Instructions

Prep time       Cook time 

  1. Preheat oven to 170°c. Line a rectangular cake pan with baking paper.
  2. Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl, add sugar.
  3. Whisk together eggs, evaporated milk, butter and vanilla essence.
  4. Add wet ingredients to flour and beat at low speed until combined then increase speed and beat for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Pour into cake pan.
  5. Bake for 40-50 minutes until golden brown and cooked or when a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean.
ICING & DECORATIONS
  1. Place the cooking chocolate, butter and cream into a bowl. Bring a small quantity of water to the boil in a saucepan.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and place the bowl firmly on top. Stir until the chocolate melts and mixture is well blended. Allow mixture to thicken by cooling slightly.
  3. Spread icing over top of cake.
  4. Arrange white melts into the number of the age of the child.
  5. Arrange car lollies on cake to suit.
